The Patriots look to run away with the AFC East top spot again this season. The Jets, Dolphins, and Bills look like little but six guaranteed wins as the Patriots return most of the 16-0 team from last season. Brady will continue to throw to Moss, Laurence Maroney will continue to keep the defense honest, and Teddy Bruschi will continue to direct a defense that held teams to 17 points a game last year.

The Pats should have no problem returning to the playoffs before they are truly put in jeopardy. There the Colts, Chargers, and Steelers will be the only real challenges on their way to another Super Bowl. Fans around Boston should start to save up now for Super Bowl tickets.

New England has a passing attack that nobody has an answer for. Brady can always go across the middle to Wes Walker on a cross route or find Benjamin Watson in a seam. Fans should have confidence that Jabar Gaffney is a solid third option at receiver.

The defense may have lost something on the defense with the departure of cornerbacks Asante Samuel and Randall Gay and defensive back Eugene Gay, but Bill Belichick should be able to work with corners Ellis Hobbs and Jason Webster. Rodney Harrison is still there at strong safety, so the secondary has not been completely gutted.

If anything, the Patriots have proven that whatever roster comes to Gillette Stadium, Belichick will be able to work with it and make a deep playoff run. The Patriots are favorites again this season and refuse to break the golden age of sports that has Boston and all of New England excited year round.
